Snowshoe Book Walk

For kids age 10 and under

Depot Park, Downtown Ironwood

WILL take place
IF we have 2 inches of snow

Free event for children age 10 and under to enjoy what may be their first time on skis or snowshoes. Snowshoes, skis and boots will be provided or bring your own. Volunteers will be on hand to assist. Medals, hot chocolate and cookies, plus a small bonfire - all outdoors - good clean fun!

Come and enjoy a hot Cornish (beef) or Veggie (vegan) pasty, fruit, cookies, beverages and camaraderie with friends.

SISU Expo
The SISU Expo will take place at the Ironwood Memorial Building in conjunction with the SISU Party on Saturday. The Friday night Expo is cancelled.

SISU Store
We will be selling 2024 tee shirts, SISU notecards, SISU jewelry, and prior year’s shirts and hats.

Music
JD Bass will DJ music for a festive atmosphere.

Door Prizes
Racers can enter the door prize drawing for Fast Wax products donated by Fast Wax, and a wax iron donated by Boulder Nordic.

SISU
30K Ski Race

  • Point-to-point ski race from ABR Trails to downtown Ironwood.

  • First 21K are on ABR trails, last 9K into town is skied only on race day, with the exception of the 2K through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park.

  • Receive racer gifts, eligible for prize awards and random prize drawings.

  • The SISU race course begins at ABR Trails and ends in downtown Ironwood. Racers can expect well groomed trails that pass through forested landscapes, ups and downs among rocky outcrops, gentle sections along the Montreal River and a former railroad grade, and a few twists and turns through the Miners Memorial Heritage Park before the final K to the "Finnish" line in the Downtown City Square, Ironwood's newest park, completed in the Fall of 2021.
